Enjoy “Maximum Fun” shows on your phone with Kinoma Play

Maximum Fun is the home of the acclaimed The Sound of Young America, also known as “the public radio show about things that are awesome”.

The only way it could be better? Well, what if you could enjoy Maximum Fun shows with Kinoma Play, the only mobile app with extra awesome sauce?

We’re very glad to announce that Maximum Fun shows are now available in Kinoma Guide. Here’s are the “things that are awesome” you’ll find there:

  • The Sound of Young America — Host Jesse Thorn (“America’s Radio Sweetheart”) interviews personalities from the world of entertainment and the arts with a special focus on comedy. It’s been called “the greatest radio show you’ve never heard of”, and described as “the civility and preparedness of [Terry] Gross leavened with the good humor of [Conan] O’Brien”.
  • TSOYA: The College Years — A pre-podcasting look deep into the vaults of The Sound of Young America show. This is the origin story, if you will.
  • TSOYA Classics — Classic episodes of The Sound of Young America.
  • Coyle & Sharpe: The Imposters – In the early 1960s, James P. Coyle and Mal Sharpe roped strangers from the streets of San Francisco into bizarre schemes and surreal stunts. As explained to Newsweek in 1964, “We try to pose an almost plausible question, then proceed step by step into absurdity until the interviewee is seething.”
  • Jordan, Jesse, Go! – This is a freewheeling comedy show about life in your twenties and everything else. It’s more free-form than TSOYA, with skits and guests like “I’m a PC” actor John Hodgman, author Sarah Vowell, actor Rob Corddry, and various contemporary comedians.
  • Stop Podcasting Yourself — The latest addition to the Maximum Fun family, this is one of the funniest little shows on the internet. It’s hosted by stand-up comedians Dave Shumka and Graham Clark from their hideout in Vancouver, British Columbia.
