Kinoma Play Chosen as an Anchor Application for Windows Marketplace for Mobile

Kinoma Play to Be Featured at CTIA Wireless Show in Microsoft Booth #5136

PALO ALTO, CA–(Marketwire – March 31, 2009) – Kinoma Play, the mobile media browser that lets consumers see and hear their favorite media faster, has been listed as one of the anchor applications for Windows Marketplace for Mobile. The recently announced application marketplace will be included with all Windows phones based on Windows Mobile 6.5 this fall. Kinoma will demonstrate Kinoma Play in Microsoft Corp.’s booth, #5136 at the CTIA Wireless show in Las Vegas, April 1-3.

Kinoma Play is a fundamentally better way to find, play and share all kinds of media — videos, music, podcasts, radio, audiobooks and photos — whether they’re on your phone, your home PC, or streaming from your favorite social media sites. It delivers an exceptional, touch-optimized media experience for leading sites like YouTube, Flickr, Picasa, SHOUTcast and Live365, and the built-in Kinoma Guide puts “the best of the web” within easy reach.

“Enthusiasts have embraced Kinoma Play as a ‘must-have’ application that shows how powerful the Windows Mobile media experience can be,” said Peter Hoddie, co-founder and CEO of Kinoma. “Windows Marketplace for Mobile opens up users to a new experience where they can discover and experience dynamic applications, like Kinoma Play, on their Windows mobile device.”

“As a creator of mobile media software, Kinoma offers technology that is a great asset to the Windows Marketplace,” said Steve Hegenderfer, group product manager, Microsoft. “We look forward to making it easy for millions of Windows phone users to download Kinoma Play, one of the latest mobile media browsers available for finding and accessing video, audio and pictures.”

With more than 20,000 applications already in market, Windows Mobile is among the most popular platforms for developers. Windows Mobile 6.5, the next generation of the Windows Mobile operating system, will allow developers to build innovative mobile applications by leveraging familiar desktop and server development tools.

If you happen to be at CTIA Wireless 2009 show, please come by the Microsoft booth and say “hi!”
