Kinoma Producer gets a review, too

Wow! This week we were lucky enough to get two terrific reviews from folks who spent some quality time with both of our products.

Harv Laser, a Managing Editor for TreoCentral, is the very definition of enthusiast. We really like when he writes about our products because he often goes beyond the basics to describe not just the “what” but also the “why”, and that makes them useful reading for future and current customers alike.

His new review is for Kinoma Producer 4. As Harv says:

…Kinoma makes another superb, consumer-oriented, inexpensive product that gets little attention, and I think it’s long-overdue for a review.

Kinoma Producer is a great companion to Kinoma Player — not to mention your iPod, PSP, Zune, etc. — and we’re glad to see it get an in-depth review.

    Hi..
hey Charles.. thanks for the kind words about my review.. i’ve been using Kinoma Producer 4 like crazy to scale down full-length feature films i’m captured from (mainly) TCM with my Neuros Recorder 2, then uploading them to my private FTP site so i can stream them in Kinoma Player 4 EX.. as described in my Kinoma Producer review.. this is so simple to do it’s ridiculous.. the best playback is achieved when the Player’s preferences are set to NOT prefer download over streaming.. it’s smooth as silk over Sprint’s EVDO network on my two Treo 700ps.. with only an occasional pause and burp for buffering.. MUCH smoother than if i have [x] checked prefer download over streaming.. PLUS, when you select prefer streaming over download, and you don’t watch an entire film in one viewing, when you go back to it again, the Player remembers exactly where you left off and buffers up and starts playing the movie from that point.. which it does not do if you select prefer download over streaming..

by keeping these Producer-scaled versions of full-length movies on my private FTP site, i don’t have to fill up an SD card with them and then try to remember what movie is on which card..

anyway, i neglected to mention this in my Producer review (select streaming instead of download).. and it makes a world of difference..

now please get your coders to put a battery meter into the Player.. please?..

    Thanks
    Harv
