Don’t playa’-hate…validate!
A less-appreciated fact about Kinoma Player is that it’s also the best podcatcher for Palm OS.
The term podcatcher means that Kinoma Player has built-in support for audio and video podcast feeds. Other players require you to buy additional software for your Treo and/or PC to use podcasts, but that’s a messy and unreliable way to emulate features that just work in Kinoma Player.
At some point you may try to bookmark a feed only to discover that Kinoma Player doesn’t understand it. Here’s what to do about that:
First, validate the feed. Go to the Feed Validator site, enter the feed URL, and click Validate.
Generally, feeds that don’t work with Kinoma Player will have all sorts of problems. Here’s an example problem that happened 100 times in a low-quality feed that we just removed from the Kinoma Media Guide:

Next, let the feed provider know that there’s a problem with their feed that’s preventing you from using it with your favorite podcatcher. Usually sites want to make valid feeds, but often don’t know they have problems.
Finally, let us know too, so that we can encourage them to (and even help) solve their feed problems as well.
