What’s new in Kinoma Media Guide — 11 Jul 2007

As always, the Kinoma Media Guide continues to get bigger and better. Here’s what’s new in the Kinoma Media Guide since 6/11/2007:

Entertainment

If you’re a fan of They Might Be Giants (or just like great, unique music), check out the They Might Be Giants podcast at Music > They Might Be Giants to hear new music and rare demos by “the two Johns”.

We’ve added AmericaFree.TV Crime Fiction, which features the best in old-school crime and suspense programming. You can find it in Entertainment > Live TV Entertainment.

Rocketboom is a daily vodcast featuring fun and interesting tech news delivered by a cheeky girl with a lovely accent — what more could a geek want? We’ve updated this entry to use a video feed that’s significantly more optimized for mobile playback, and you can find it at Entertainment > Rocketboom.

Information

The guide now includes a master category for all National Public Radio podcasts. If you’re an NPR junkie, Kinoma Media Player is now arguably now the best way to enjoy everything NPR has to offer. You can find this new category at News > NPR Audio Directory.

We recently added three new podcasts from NOVA, the excellent science program from PBS. The NOVA podcast features short stories from the world of science — everything from hurricanes to mummies to neutrinos — related to the NOVA TV show. The NOVA scienceNOW podcast features brief, often irreverent conversations with scientists and science journalists. NOVA E=mc2 is the companion podcast to Einstein’s Big Idea, and it lets you hear 10 top physicists explain Einstein’s famous equation. You can find all NOVA podcasts in Education.

Radio

If you’re French Canadian you may be especially interested in the addition of La Première Chaîne, the French-language news and information service of the CBC, and Espace Musique, the French-language music radio service of the CBC. They can be found in International > Francais > Radio > Canada.

If you’re an For all of our Air America “progressive patriot”, you’ll be glad to know that the Kinoma Media Guide now includes Air America podcasts. They can be found in Talk & Politics > Air America.

Race to 2008

Stay on top of the U.S. Election 2008 wherever you are with Kinoma Player. You can find podcasts from three of the candidates, plus news from CNN and PBS, in Talk & Politics > Election 2008 (US).

Webcams

The NASDAQ Tower webcam lets you see NASDAQ’s famous video tower, standing tall on a New-York-picturesque corner of Times Square. You can find it in Internet Video > WebCams > Travel.

Traffic cameras

We’ve added 20 new traffic cameras, primarily in the San Francisco Bay/Oakland area. To see them, go to Traffic Information > California (Wi-Fi) > San Francisco-Oakland Bay Area.
